Berlin
Airport - There are three main, international
airports situated in Berlin. The first of which is
Tegel Airport. This is a conveniently
located airport, which has recently been renovated
and revamped. Everything is very easy to reach from
Tegel airport, and the airport itself is extremely
passenger friendly. The Public Transport connections
that lead you into town are easy to find and easy
to navigate. City and transport maps are available
at the Airport’s Tourist Information Centre
from Berlin Tourismus Marketing.
If you are planning to go into the city of Berlin
by bus, you should take the X9, 109, or the 128 bus.
The bus connections to the underground and Zoo Station
(central Station near the Ku’damm area) can
be found just outside the airport terminal.
A taxi ride to Central Berlin (East or West) will
cost about € 15.00 - 17.00.
Tempelhof Airport is the smallest
of the airports in Berlin, and it lies just south
of the city. It can be found on the U6 (Underground
Line 6). Stadtmitte, the new city centre, is only
a few stops away by underground, which means you can
reach the centre in approximately twenty minutes.
A taxi ride to Central Berlin (East or West) will
cost about € 12.00.
Schönefeld is the airport of
the old Eastern Berlin, and is located some 18km southeast
of the city centre. Most Charter Flight companies
fly to this well-established, and reliable airport.
The easiest way to get into town is by Airport Express.
This will get you to the Ku’damm in around 30
minutes.
If you decide not to go by Airport Express, then
you should get the 171 bus to Rudow U-Bahn station
and get to the Zoo by U7 (Underground Line 7).
A taxi ride to the city centre will cost approximately
€ 23.00.
